The weekend before my first true mountaineering trip on glaciated terrain, I hiked up two small peaks to stay in shape. All-in-all, it was a negative experience. Three quirks of this strenuous loop trail made it not my favorite.
Pikes Peak the Easy Way
Though it required some effort, the hike was easy enough that I thought to myself it might be worth doing it a second time that afternoon to better prepare my body for an upcoming mountaineering trip in Washington.
